Health Surveillance and Monitoring in Oil and Gas
Course Length: 5 days Course Description
Employees in the oil and gas industry face the risk of exposure to
noise, vibration, dusts, biological agents, solvents, ionizing radiation,
fumes, working in compressed air and other substances hazardous to health. Health
surveillance and monitoring is, therefore, critical to ensure health checks,
screening, procedures, assessments and biological monitoring are carried out to
workers in the oil and gas sector in a specific occupational exposure. Health
surveillance ensures that ill health effects are identified and detected at
workplace as early as possible so as counteractive measure can be taken. The
health surveillance and monitoring course will build a practical experience
among the workers in the petroleum sectors, more specifically assist
organizations to put in place the best health and monitoring systems,
procedures, assessments, screening methods and ways to better the health of the
employees by minimizing the risks.
