Employees in the oil and gas industry face the risk of exposure to noise, vibration, dust, biological agents, solvents, ionizing radiation, fumes, working in compressed air and other substances hazardous to health. Health surveillance and monitoring is, therefore, critical to ensure health checks, screening, procedures, assessments and biological monitoring are carried out to workers in the oil and gas sector in a specific occupational exposure. Health surveillance ensures that ill health effects are identified and detected in a workplace as early as possible so as counteractive measures can be taken. The health surveillance and monitoring course will build a practical experience among the workers in the petroleum sectors, more specifically assist organizations to put in place the best health and monitoring systems, procedures, assessments, screening methods and ways to better the health of the
employees by minimizing the risks.
